Client: DFJ Mercury & PodcastReady, Inc.
DFJ Mercury is a Texas based seed- and early-stage venture capital fund that invests in companies addressing large market opportunities in the information technology, life sciences, and cleantech sectors. DFJ Mercury is a partner in the global intelligence network of Draper Fisher Jurvetson (DFJ®) funds.

PodcastReady™ provides software and services to remove obstacles currently limiting the widespread adoption of podcasting. Whether you're making, subscribing, listening to, or sharing, PodcastReady seeks to make all podcasts both simple to use and portable. PodcastReady's patent pending myPodder™ podcast management software transforms UMS compliant MP3 devices (players that connect as universal mass storage devices) into independent podcast receivers.

Challenge: DFJ is in the business of identifying opportunities. When PodcastReady came along, DFJ jumped at the opportunity as lead investor. Because early stage companies are always a challenge and full of risks, DFJ and PodcastReady were looking for a way to remove the technology risk associated with hiring a third party to assisted with development of their product. Because in early stage companies, stakes are high and a company cannot afford to have cost overruns or missed delivery milestones. Startups simply cannot afford to get it wrong. They must precisely bring their product to market, or risk the chance of missing their market entirely.

Opportunity: PodcastReady selected Transēvo as its delivery partner. Transēvo understood the critical nature of the startup world, and was able to keep pace with the complex and continuously evolving needs of this dynamic company. Transēvo recognized an opportunity to not simply provide software solutions for the company, but to additionally execute of all of PodcastReady’s precise market needs. Transēvo assisted with duties as rudimentary as developing code, all the way up to greater responsibilities such as helping PodcastReady realize its full market potential. Transēvo eventually became so involved that Bryan Haardt, Transēvo partner, assumed the role of an acting PodcastReady Board Member.

Result: PodcastReady’s site traffic has grown 10 times over, while myPodder is currently slated to be available on more than 10 million devices — including partnerships with SanDisk® and iRiver. Transēvo excelled in far more than building a piece of software; we built a company.



Client: GPS eCommerce Consulting, Ltd. (EU/CY)
GPS™ is a leader in the processing of online financial transactions, and sustains immediate access to millions of ATM machines around the globe. Whether you need make a payment online or in the “real world,” GPS ensures it happens quickly, accurately, and securely.

Challenge: To say the stakes are high in the online finance world of GPS is a gross understatement. Billions of dollars are transferred online every day, making this market one of the fastest growing in the financial services sector. So when GPS set out to choose an appropriate software partner for its needs, they did not do so lightly. GPS could not simply tap anyone who could write code; they needed a partner that had the right technical capabilities along with a deep industry expertise. GPS needed a partner who understood the regulatory requirements at the heart of their business. Additionally, this partner must be fluent in the latest and hardest security technologies and methodologies. Quite simply, there was no room for error when dealing with such of astronomical numbers.

Opportunity: When GPS approached Transēvo as a partner, they did so through reputation. Transēvo had already made its name having written, implemented, and maintained some of the most heavily used systems in the business. In addition to technical proficiency, Transēvo brought years of banking and transaction experience to the table. In fact, it was one of GPS’s direct business competitors who recommended Transēvo for this position! And Transēvo was able to display an immediate impact due to its industry specific methodology, coupled with its past industry expertise. By bringing a best-of-breed approach and the necessary industry know-how, Transēvo devised a plan which saved GPS millions of dollars in development costs.

Result: GPS was able to realize 10s of millions of dollars in cost savings, while cutting its products' time-to-market by 25%. But most importantly, Transēvo was able to assist GPS with its goal of becoming the industry leader in online payment processing.



Client: Chevron Corporation
Chevron is a collaborative enterprise whose many parts work in concert to deliver vital energy sources to the globe. Acting with a uniform worldwide vision, Chevron’s various businesses fulfill their commitment to provide the necessary energy to drive human progress. Additionally, Chevron has interests in exploration and production, chemicals, manufacturing, marketing, and transportation.

Challenge: Chevron has long been a household name and leader in its respective markets. When it came to choosing a dedicated and resourceful partner to assist with development of some critical applications, they easily could have chosen anyone; and they specifically selected Transēvo for this task. Chevron needed a confident partner to “own the problem.” Chevron was looking for thoughtful and unique leadership when it came to the design and execution of their systems, rather than finding a “body shop” to mindlessly crank out line after line of code. They needed a group of innovators that could think big and deliver big.

Opportunity: Transēvo took this opportunity to rigorously understand Chevron’s business drivers, and how these systems would impact their organization as a whole. Transēvo was able to deliver not only world class systems. . . but more importantly, real world success! Transēvo does not ascribe to “technology for technologies sake.” In several instances, Transēvo was able to leverage existing investments, and modify existing processes to achieve the specifically desired result — without unwarrented time consumption, without cost overruns. Imagine that? A software company advising you not to write software? Crazy? Chevron’s management didn’t think so, and neither did their accountants. Transēvo believes that an idea has to make sense for the business, not just dollars and cents for the developers.

Result: Chevron became able to meet its business requirements at a fraction of the originally projected cost. Chevron was also able to revise some of its methodologies and technology standards in order to challenge the value actually brought to the business. With Transēvo’s insight and assistance, Chevron was able to view their technology through fresh eyes and with a renewed sense of purpose.



Client: Pet Butler Franchise Services, Inc.
Pet Butler© provides services and franchises for professional pet waste cleanup and removal, in addition to providing pet stations and supplies to individual yards, parks, and multi-family communities spanning North America. Pet Butler aims to make life more convenient, enjoyable, safe, and hygenic for both pets and their owners, as well as giving owners more quality time with their pets and family. As Pet Butler themselves say, it is "What they doo."

Challenge: Though the thought of retreiving and disposing of animal waste as a business might seem comical to some, Pet Butler's technical requirements were no laughing matter. With hundreds of active franchises across the nation, Pet Butler could be a logistical nightmare when keeping the business running both efficiently and on time. They needed a partner who understood the complexity of their business model, and could provide a full service for their business needs, as well as the needs of their many franchises; not to mention someone who could provide an integrated approach to their software needs. Because when it comes to providing reliable, professional service to over 12,000 clients throughout 1,600 cities, Pet Butler takes being "Number One in the Number Two business" very seriously.
